COO & Co-Founder of Raster
Iwan Spillebeen is a digital transformation specialist and technologist with over three decades of global experience, including more than 20 years across Asia-Pacific. His career has been defined by a commitment to innovation — aligning people, process, and technology to create lasting impact across industries and communities.
After beginning his career in Europe with Renault and Thorn EMI, Iwan moved to Asia to join Galaxy Distribution System. Quickly rising to COO / Senior Vice President Operations, he established Galaxy’s global operations centre in Bangkok, Thailand, and its software development centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Iwan led SaaS transformation projects across 39 countries, and launched Galaxy BSP, the first global non-air billing and settlement system spanning 52 markets.
He later held senior leadership roles with Galileo (now TravelPort) and Gulliver’s Travel Associates, driving large-scale operational consolidations and market migrations that created multimillion-dollar efficiencies and redefined regional support strategies. At Amadeus, he spearheaded the rollout of a SaaS mid/back-office platform serving over 3,500 companies in eight countries, achieving EUR 3.5M in revenue and leading one of the organization’s earliest agile transformations.
In 2012 Iwan became interested in bitcoin out of professional and personal curiosity, as an early adopter Iwan was involved in discussion forums, mining, and early stage exploration of use cases; which planted the seeds for future projects.
Branching out further in Asia, Iwan joined as Head of Digital Transformation at Netsol Technologies in 2015, Iwan transformed software development processes across a 1,400-member team, introducing agile frameworks that boosted productivity by over 50%, profitability by nearly 70%, with a high focus on quality of deliverables.
In 2017, he founded and ran Blockchain Labs, Thailand’s first blockchain and AI software company to achieve Board of Investment (BOI) status. The firm delivered blockchain-driven contract management, real estate, and financial platforms, including mutual fund trading systems, smart property management solutions, and NFT-based membership models for the golf industry; as well as AI solutions for recruitment management for leading banks such as Krungthai Bank, Siam Commercial Bank, and Kasikorn Bank, and AI solutions for process automation and improvement for the agriculture, consumer goods and real estate industries.
In 2019, Iwan founded Abalon Labs, focusing on digital transformation and education for social good. Through Abalon Labs, he collaborates with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and a multitude of government agencies across Southeast Asia to implement blockchain and AI frameworks for governance, transparency, and inclusion.
Beyond corporate innovation, Iwan is deeply invested in education. Since 2017, he has volunteered with W-English, helping establish W-Academy, a leadership and technology initiative for women, developed in collaboration with UN Women and Cambridge University, to help young female professionals break the glass ceiling.
Since 2021, Iwan has been a core partner at Raster, an AI-driven DeFi analytics platform. At Raster, he focuses on building an intelligent, agentic network that brings advanced token analytics, portfolio intelligence, and decentralized financial tools to a global audience. Making DeFi accessible, transparent, and empowering for everyone.
Given the promise of DeFi, the potential to bank the unbanked, and to make digital investments available to the masses, Iwan teamed up with the founders of Raster in 2021 and has been full time involved with Raster since.
